Entry and Exit Requirements

  • Are there COVID-related entry requirements for U.S. citizens?  No.
  • Is a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry?  No.
  • Are health screening procedures in place at airports and other ports of entry?  No.
  • Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine?  No

COVID-19 Testing

Testing for US citizens is available at private clinics and hospitals in Guatemala City and in many departments outside of the capital.

The following list of testing facilities are performing COVID-19 tests.  The cost of the test is the sole responsibility of the volunteer.  Prices are subject to change without notice.  Note that this list is not comprehensive and does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of any particular facility.

  • Volunteers do not need to provide proof of Covid-19 Vaccination to participate, although Worthy Village strongly encourages vaccination before travel.
  • Volunteers understand that payments made to WV are 100% nonrefundable in any event. With this in mind, WV strongly suggests volunteers purchase insurance for their trip. 
  • Some of the Staff working on the ground in Guatemala do not have access to the Covid-19 vaccine, therefore are not vaccinated.
  • Volunteers must understand and be comfortable working with non-vaccinated personnel. 
  • Masks are no longer required but are optional.
