Volunteers and Registered Nurses help in Guatemala.

During a recent trip I traveled to Guatemala with a group of volunteers from the non-profit organization, Worthy Village. I had the opportunity to observe them as they worked in schools and clinics in towns and villages around Lake Atitlan. Prior to the health clinics and educational visits to school the volunteers prepared donations brought from the United States and Guatemala. Supplies included tooth brushes and tooth paste, bandage supplies, over the counter medicines such as; tylenol, ibuprofen, antacids and anti fugal cremes. Nurses saw a variety patients in the community clinics with aliments from generalized pain, to head aches, dehydration and more serious medical conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems.
